This one is personal. 💋Self-Love, is the regard for one’s own well-being and happiness. The truth is, if we all practiced more self-love we wouldn’t look to others to fill that need. I consider it a human necessity.
So this week I am featuring items that help me find that “happy place” but what really intrigues me is…how do you self-love?


I haven’t always been a runner but as life grew busier and more stressful, I learned to love it. There is something about being outdoors on my own with no one to answer to. It’s a way of clearing out my head and just being in the moment. That being said, I’ve tried every running shoe known to mankind and so far these provide the most cushion and support.

Dry Brushing

A huge part of loving myself falls into the grooming category but not just your typical grooming like waxing or shaving but grooming that’s more like a “spiritual ritual”. Case in point, I love good dry brushing. Not only does it boosts circulation and aid in lymphatic drainage but it also brightens the skin by sloughing off all those dead skin cells.

Self-Love Mantras

Part of practicing self-love is changing the mantra that you have in your head.

Here are some helpful mantra examples:

  • Learn that comparison is the death of happiness. The only person you should compare yourself to is you.

  • Allow yourself to make mistakes, self-love is always evolving and needs to be practiced on a daily basis.

  • Get rid of any toxic relationships, if someone makes you feel less of yourself, they don’t deserve a space in your life.

  • Treat others with love and respect, it makes us feel better when we treat those the way we wish we were treated. It may not always turn out in your favor but having integrity is huge.
