For the month of March, we are celebrating women. In particular National Women’s History Month. Commemorating and encouraging the vital role of women in American history, as well as their role in our everyday lives. This week I am highlighting small women-owned businesses. Here are a few statistics for you. 40% of ALL small businesses in America are owned by women. In 2020, 64% of new women-owned businesses were started by women of color.
Here are a few ways that you can help them grow
- Do an internet search of what businesses in your area are owned by women.
- Support them by shopping and purchasing their wares whenever possible.
- Don’t forget to leave a review on Google, Facebook or Yelp. This helps increase visibility.
- Last but not least, learn more about your local female entrepreneurs, you may decide to invest or donate to show your support. Either way, you decide, you are helping promote the growth of female-owned companies. And that my friends is a win-win in my book. 😘

Sprinkles-Pastel Happy Birthday Kit $30 (60 pieces)
Not only did these two women fill a need for today’s society but they kept it in the family too. Harlow and Grey was the brainchild of 2 cousins who sought out to make disposable and beautiful entertaining accessories for the everyday host. Both women spent years working in the luxury lifestyle industry. Their mission was to design elegant & stylish party-ware that was disposable. (recyclable too) They believe that throwing a party should be simple and memorable. More importantly, spent with friends and loved ones. I say, “mission accomplished!”harlowandgrey.com
The Amazing Cookie $25.95 for 12
Collette is a young woman with a knack for creating her own cookie recipes, strictly for fun. But that didn’t pay the bills. After applying for several jobs and faced with several rejections, Collette became more determined to open her own business doing what she loved. Making cookies! This tenacious young woman was determined to make it on her own despite her disability. Disability? You ask? Oh, yes, I failed to mention that Collette has Down syndrome. The reason being is these cookies are so darn good, I didn’t want her “disability” defining her. This cookie is truly amazing. Chocolaty chewy center with a crisp cinnamon exterior. Bravo Collette! Well done girl! colletteys.com
